Day 29 – Candle

While driving home yesterday I suddenly decided that my photo of the day would be of a candle. My fiancée Laura loves candles and always has one or two burning at her house so it was easy to find the target for my shot. I tried a few different angles for this photo (without setting my camera on fire) to capture different effects like the reflection of the flame on the melted wax, or the glowing red of the end of the wick inside the flame, but none of them really looked any good except for this type. Straight on, focused on the wick to give detail there while the brightness of the flame made everything around it seem black. Fire is awesome. I really like this photo 🙂
